Maria de Belen Foundation is an NGO which works for the promotion of Children's Rights, especially those that cross socially vulnerable in Goya, Corrientes, Argentina.

The NGO, starts a new year with lots of news!

At the beginning of the month, the work team of Maria de Belen Foundation started to plan the activities designated to more than 90 children from 3 to 12 years old, which are living precarious socioeconomic situation.

This year, we decided to continue with the same programs of the last year because they resulted very efficient, and we have noticed the evolution of the children which receive those social and educational programs.

The foundation has already finished the admission interviews, and all the classrooms are complete. Also, there is a waiting list for those children who couldn't sign up at time. This increment in the number of children who demand this services, shows the importance of building places in which they, children and teenagers,  can play, learn and enjoy, while perents are working, especially in cases of social vulnerability.

PROGRAMS:

  1. CHILD DEVELOPMENT: (Desarrollo Infantil Temprano)

This Program try to create, learning and stimulating places in which the child can get tools to guarantee a safe development, promoting their self-esteem and self-confidence.

BENEFITS:

  • Cognitive stimulation, play activities, and Kinder Garden activities.
  • Sports games and plays
  • Nutritive snack
  • Educational  workshops with parent´s
  • Psychological and pedagogic therapy.

People who receive this benefits: 37 toddlers from 3 to 5 years old.

2. EDUCATIONAL GAMES AND SCHOOL SUPPORT. “(Jugando Aprendo”)

We like to learn, just playing! The objective of this program is to guarantee child´s Rights, especially those related with education, game and learning, by creating spaces for healthy recreation.

BENEFITS:

  • School support
  • Nutritive snack
  • Sport games and plays
  • Artistic and recreation activities
  • Cooperative games workshop
  • Educational workshops with parent´s.
  • Psychological and pedagogic therapies.

People who receive this benefits: 55 children from 6 to 12 years old. (There are some children who are older, but they are still attending primary school.)

3. PROGRAMA OPORTUNIDAD. “Opportunities”

Create areas to listen and talk, bringing emotional support and opportunities to young people, who are willing to develop their knowledge, giving tools to receive the adult life.

BENEFITS:

  • Training scholarships in different disciplines: Art, English language, Dance and Gym.
  • Cook and bakery course.
  • Educational workshops with parent´s.
  • Psychological and pedagogical therapies.

4. PROGRAMA CULTIVARTE:

Build a safe area in which children and families can think about those social problematics which involve them, and provide tools to face different complex situations, recreating theirs self-esteem, by doing different ludic and expressive activities.

Children who have access to therapeutic play often show increased self-confidence, resilience, happiness, and this can impact positively on all areas of their life.
